The profession that seeks to develop a pleasant and functional setting is known as interior decoration or interior design. To achieve this, experts analyze the surface components of the environment and work with dimensions and volume.

Within the trends that the field of decoration experiences annually, and that determine, as in the field of fashion, the commitment to certain types of colors or styles, it should be noted that in recent times it has managed to acquire great presence and demands what is called minimalist decoration.

This style of interior design is basically characterized by the fact that it is modern and very simple where order and the lack of ornamental elements prevail. Likewise, among its main signs of identity are the use and predominance of neutral colors such as white or black, which opts for the installation of furniture with very straight lines, the use of few accessories and very good lighting.

In addition to this trend, also in the field that concerns us we can talk about what is called rustic decoration. This is the one that is identified by the absolute predominance of wood both on the floor and even on the walls, and also by the use of very robust furniture with very solid finishes.

In the same way, we cannot ignore the so-called classic decoration where warm colors abound, where the furniture is made with noble woods and where floral or geometric finishes are chosen.

The loft, the pop-art, the oriental or the chic are other types of interior decoration.

A decorator, on the other hand, is a person who is dedicated to the interior design of a house, a business, an office, etc. His task includes analyzing the functionality of the space and the application of various styles to achieve the desired aesthetic.

The distribution of the furniture, the wall and ceiling coverings, the type of floor and the inclusion of textile elements (such as curtains, tablecloths and rugs) are some of the decisions that the decorator must make.

It is common for the decorator, before starting to work on the environment, to present a drawing or a scheme to the client to show what his idea is. If the client accepts the proposal, the decorator will be in charge of taking his project from the paper to the home.
