What Does CONMETRO Stand for

National Council of metrology, standardization and Industrial quality

Conmetro is the acronym of the National Council of metrology, standardization and Industrial quality. This is an interministerial group consisting of the Ministers of development, industry and foreign trade; of science and technology; of health; of labor and employment; the environment; of Foreign Affairs; of Justice; of agriculture, livestock and supply and by the Minister of defence. In addition, members of the Council the President the Inmetro and the Presidents of ABNT, CNI and IDEC.

One of the tasks of the Conmetro the formulation, coordination and supervision of the national policy of metrology. Ensure the standardisation of units of measurement used in the country is also your responsibility. On the regulatory body condition Sinmetro, the Council acts drawing up consultation mechanisms that make possible the consensus between public interests, interests of industries and consumers. Conmetro have the Inmetro as your Executive Office.
