National Department of Transit

Denatran stands for National Transit Department, executive body of the national system of traffic. Headquartered in Brasília, the Road is an autarchy linked to MCid and has jurisdiction over the entire national territory. Their duties include the enforcement of traffic legislation, the establishment of training and assessment procedures of conductors, the expedition of the CNH and the registration and licensing of vehicles. Some of these functions are delegated to the DMV of each federal unit.

Is also the Denatran responsibility to coordinate the organs that oversee the implementation of National Policy and to ensure compliance with the norms established by Contran. To handle all its tasks, the national traffic Department is divided into six General coordinations: computerisation and statistics, of legal instruments and the monitoring of Transit infrastructure, Regulatory and strategic planning, Operational planning and qualification of the human factor in traffic.
